What are your ratios?
  • Ratios range from 3:1 to 5:1

What ages do you accept?
  • 3-12 years 
  • All children must be bathroom independent

Will my child be with kids his/her own age?
  • Most likely. Our groups are well-rounded in age, ability, and interests which provides a rich experience for all
  • Parents may request siblings and friends be together

What if my child is the oldest/youngest in the camp?
  • Everyone has an important role in each group.  
  • The focus of Art+Nature is on interests, needs, and abilities not on age.

Can my 2-year-old attend?
  • If your child is currently enrolled in or has previously attended a preschool program, AND is bathroom independent

What about bathrooms?
  • We assist and teach children how to use "nature's potty" 
  • Public restrooms are always nearby when necessary

Is Art+Nature a "nut-free" program?
  • Being an out-of-doors program, we are "nut-friendly"
  • Children are not allowed to share food
What's the Dress Code?
  • 'Play' clothes (that may get stained) 
  • Pants or leggings with full leg cover  
  • Warm layers
  • Comfortable & sturdy closed-toe shoes/boots

What to bring to Art+Nature?
  • Healthy snack and/or 
  • Lunch 
  • Water bottle
  • Backpack   
  • Optional: a change of clothes   
  • Please NO TOYS 

If it rains, is Art+Nature cancelled?  
  • No, Art+Nature is not cancelled if it is raining. We embrace the elements - come as they may - because exploring outside is so exciting on a rainy day! 

  What's the dress code for rainy days?  
  • Rain boots (waterproof)
  • Rain jacket (waterproof)
  • Warm layers

  What are rainy day activities?
  • Get ready for Art+Nature under the ‘umbrella’ Cypress trees
  • Activities often include: tent making, puddle jumping, and land art creating while discovering secrets about nature that only a day outside exploring in the rain reveals 

Do you offer week-long camp packages?
  • No, though we are currently offering a 10-camp package

What's the difference between the 3hr and 5hr Day Camps?
  • The 3hr Day Camp provides a taste of Art+Nature and is best suited to those who still enjoy an afternoon rest
  • We encourage children ages 4+ to attend the 5hr Day Camp as it allows more time for immersion in the Art+Nature experience

How do you address outdoor safety?
  • We always precede activities with discussions about potential risks and how to minimize or avoid these risks entirely
  • Our approach encourages even the youngest children to develop discernment and good judgement
Where is Drop off & Pick up?
What does the program cost?
  • $30/hour/child

What is the refund & cancellation policy?
  • No Full Refunds 
  • 50% Refund only if cancelled 28 days before start date
  • No credits offered (for any reason)  
  • Sorry, no exceptions.  

Do you offer make-ups for missed days?     
  • Due to the small size of the program there are no make-ups or credits for missed days

Do you offer trials for new families?
  • We invite new families to purchase 1-3 days of camp during the summer or on school holidays  
  • You must first complete an application form & submit payment prior to your child attending any class  

What are your teachers' qualifications?
  • Our experienced staff bring to our program a broad range of education and experiences.  
  • All of our lead teachers have educational backgrounds ranging from undergraduate degrees in the humanities and arts to masters degrees and multi-subject teaching credentials. 
  • Collectively our staff has 60+ years experience working with children and families!
